Theses on Gender Ideology

This week will see demonstrations against gender ideology across Canada. Child sex changes, biological men pretending to be women, drag shows in front of children, and gender indoctrination in schools are justified by gender ideology. They are signs of deeper problems.

Herewith a number of theses on gender ideology. It is a start at least to name a problem.

1. Not much more than half an hour ago, the idea that middle-aged men should disport their sexual fetishes in front of children, or that children could change from boys to girls, would have been thought absurdities too far gone for Monty Python.

2. The cultural Marxist left sees itself as the defender of oppressed minorities.  Running out of minorities, they are reduced to transexuals and drag queens.

3. Critics call the gender ideologues “groomers”, alleging that they prey sexually upon children.  Even if this is never true (an adventurous assumption), gender ideology normalizes unusual forms of sexuality in front of other people’s children, estranging those children from healthier and more traditional norms, and also from their parents.  Were that not the aim, men would dress normally while reading to children, and teachers would not keep secrets from parents. The aim is ideological, rather than sexual, and the ideology is that of the cultural Marxist left.

4. Social and ideological factors can fully explain the problem of gender ideology, but it would be naïve to suggest that no groomers will be attracted.

5. Our civilization is undergoing a massive and rapid movement to the cultural left.  The left is the aggressor, and it is winning.  Conservatives and traditionalists, weaker and less organized, are on the defensive. Ideas once perfectly normal, down to motherhood and apple pie, are deemed far-right “hate.”

6. The left has captured our institutions, commanding hegemonic and state power, and anticipates that their power will give them victory. Ideological hegemony allows them to present themselves as the forces of enlightenment, fighting against oppressive authorities.

7. The leftists are, of course, the authorities of the present. Tyranny usually claims to protect the vulnerable.

8. The left’s position does not command popular support, outside the intelligentsia and the centers of large cities.  The issue of gender ideology presents conservatives with an opportunity to consolidate popular and (most importantly) multicultural support.

9. Activists, like generals, prefer to re-fight the last war, a habit both morally easy and intellectually lazy.  This is why the homosexual movement and its various derivatives, ending in drag queens and child sexual transitions, continually allude to the civil rights movement, the origin myth of the modern left, pitting bigotry against equality.  The tragedy of racism has degenerated into the farce of drag queens.

10. The larger story is one of an ongoing and highly successful attack upon traditional religions and traditional moral ideas.  This attack upon the core of our heritage is part of a more general loss of cultural self-confidence throughout the West. If our whole history is one of colonial phobic racism, then nothing you were brought up to think is true, and you need to shut up.

11. If society consists of a multiplying diversity of oppressed minorities, each crying out with an irrefragable demand for equity, and each equipped with intersectional complexities, then we shall need a powerful and intrusive bureaucratic state to manage the whole steaming mess.

12. Many experts and more lawyers will be required by this Leviathan. This bureaucratic state will be directed by an intelligentsia, a secular clerisy, learned in the abstruse doctrines and the impenetrable jargon of the endlessly ramifying derivatives of critical theory, thus creating many alluring career opportunities. The careers will be for them, of course; the taxes, for you.

13. For the hegemon, traditional ideas are not merely incorrect, but sinful. Traditional institutions, above all the family, and traditional ways of life and traditional moral ideas will be replaced by the state. The attack upon parents is not a coincidence.

14. Popular opposition to elite ideologies is characterized as “hate”, with media, state, and other hegemonic support. Dissent is now criminalized, described as an attack upon democracy, and repressed by ambitious officials of the security state.

15. We are under attack from above. Gender ideology emphasizes that even your ideas on topics as basic as men and women, boys and girls, are wrong and probably fascist. You must be re-educated, and until that happens, you are not entitled to an opinion. But you are promised a meretricious appearance of freedom in exchange for your submission to a state that wants to take away your most important and most traditional right, the right to think for yourself.
